Commitment and Determination

The Prophet Isaiah speaks of the Lord Jesus in Isaiah 50:6-7 “I offered my back to those who beat me, my cheeks to those who pulled out my beard; I did not hide my face from mocking and spitting. (7) Because the Sovereign Lord helps me, they will not disgrace me. Therefore, have I set my face like flint, and I know they will not put me to shame.”
The flint is a hard stone-like substance that can ignite a fire when struck against steel. Native Americans used it for arrow tips, it is used in jewelry, gunpowder and much more.
His face set like the flint; Jesus committed His life on earth to do the will of the Father. He did not turn to the right or the left, nor did He do an about-face.
We are called to follow Jesus, but the Bible warns there will be adversities. The lures of the world are there to delay or entrap us, but we must stay in the fight and press forward. We have powerful weapons to make sure the victory; the promises of God in the Bible, and prayer.
God orchestrates the success of our work, but we must be faithful in performance.
